Affinity Federal Credit Union Partners with iGrad for Financial Wellness Education
Last Update: July 24, 2018
SAN DIEGO--Affinity Federal Credit Union has partnered with the San Diego-based company iGrad to offer its members financial wellness education.
Headquartered in New Jersey with more than 20 branches and over 165,000 members, Affinity Federal Credit Union (AFCU) recently launched Enrich™, iGrad's adaptive, personalized and interactive online financial literacy platform.
Enrich is used by more than 300 employers and financial institutions nationwide to provide comprehensive financial wellness education and action plans to employees and customers.
AFCU has been committed to financial literacy for more than a decade, offering 200 financial wellness events in 2017 alone. In particular, the credit union works to empower underserved communities, including at-risk high school and college students.
Offering an online financial education platform to reach more people was a priority, said Grant Gallagher, AFCU's financial education manager.
"Getting somewhere to attend an in-person seminar hasn't been as practical as it has always been," he said. "We wanted to make sure we weren't just serving our members who could attend seminars."
Enrich offers material that will be valuable to all AFCU members, with educational content including student loans, mortgages, long-term health care and more, Gallagher said.
Designed around a proprietary behavioral algorithm, Enrich personalizes financial information for each user's situation and needs. It also offers tools, quizzes, videos, articles and a library of multimedia content.
"We are thrilled to partner with Affinity Federal Credit Union," said iGrad founder and CEO Rob LaBreche. "This is a chance to positively influence the behaviors of its members through financial wellness education."
In addition to Enrich, iGrad offers a financial wellness education platform, also called iGrad™, for college students that is used at more than 600 colleges and universities nationwide. iGrad is a three-time winner of Education Program of the Year (The Institute for Financial Literacy), Best Product award for three years running (University Business Magazine), as well as the Outstanding Consumer Information Award (Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education).
